15.2 The City will reimburse an employee up to $80 per year,the cost of a City approved <br /> purchase of prescription safety glasses to be used during working hours, not to exceed <br /> $160 in the two (2)year contract period. <br /> 15.3 If the safety glasses are damaged or destroyed in the course of City business, the City will <br /> reimburse the employee for the cost of repairs to one pair of safety glasses per year, not to <br /> exceed the original purchase price subject to approval by the Employee's Supervisor. <br /> ARTICLE 16. JOB POSTING. <br /> 16.1 The CITY agrees that permanent job vacancies within the department shall be filled <br /> based on the concept of promotion from within provided that applicants: <br /> 16.1.1 have the necessary qualifications to meet the standards of the job vacancy; and <br /> 16.1.2 have the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities of the job vacancy. <br /> 16.2 Employees filling a higher job level based on the provisions of this ARTICLE shall be <br /> subject to the conditions of ARTICLE 14 (PROBATIONARY PERIOD). <br /> 16.3 The EMPLOYER has the right of final decision in the selection of employees to fill <br /> posted jobs based on qualifications, abilities and experience. <br /> 16.4 Job vacancies within the designated bargaining unit will be posted for five (5)working <br /> days so that members of the bargaining unit can be considered for such vacancies. <br /> ARTICLE 17. INSURANCE <br /> 17.1 The CITY will contribute up to a maximum of three hundred fifty dollars ($350)per <br /> month per employee for group health and life insurance for dependent coverage for <br /> calendar 1999, and three hundred sixty dollars ($360) for calendar year 2000. <br /> 17.2 EMPLOYEES not choosing dependent coverage cannot be covered at CITY expense for <br /> any additional insurance than the individual group health and group life insurance. <br /> Additional life insurance can be purchased by EMPLOYEES at the EMPLOYEE's <br /> expense to the extent allowed under the CITY's group policy. <br /> ARTICLE 18. INJURY ON DUTY. <br /> The Injury on duty benefit will be sixty (60) days with the first three (3) days to come out of sick <br /> leave and then sixty (60) days injury on duty. Any days beyond the sixty (60) days will then be <br /> taken from the EMPLOYEE's banked sick leave. EMPLOYEES receiving benefits under this <br /> ARTICLE shall not receive payments from the CITY which causes the EMPLOYEE to earn <br /> more than the EMPLOYEE's after tax take home pay earned while working. <br /> 8 <br />
