Resignation of Planning Commission Member Bobbi Brooks <br /> MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Stigney to accept the October 22, 1998 resignation of Bobbi Brooks <br /> from the Planning Commission. <br /> VOTE: Ayes -4 Nays - 0 The motion carried <br /> Jopke gave his report as follows: <br /> The Planning Commission is asking the Council direct staff to advertise the Planning <br /> Commission's open seat, contact the previous applicants that had expressed interest in the seat <br /> vacated by Marshal Johnston; and give the Planning Commission the opportunity to interview <br /> and recommend the candidate to fill the vacancy. <br /> H. Resolution No. 5287, Requesting an Extension of Comprehensive Plan Submittal <br /> Deadline <br /> Jopke gave his report as follows: <br /> The Metropolitan Council has indicated that over half of the communities in the metropolitan <br /> area have or will be requesting and extension to their Comprehensive Plan Update process. Staff <br /> is also recommending that the City of Mounds View apply for an extension. The following is a <br /> revised schedule: <br /> 1. Draft plan completion- January 29, 1998 <br /> 2. Planning Commission sponsored community forums in February <br /> 3. Planning Commission sponsored formal public hearing and recommendation to <br /> adopt to the City Council in March <br /> 4. City Council sponsored public hearing and approve the updated Comprehensive <br /> Plan for submittal to the Metropolitan Council in April <br /> 5. 60 day approval process by the Metropolitan Council and final adoption by the <br />
