RESOLUTION NO. 96-24 <br /> A RESOLUTION ADDING LIONS NAME TO LAKESIDE PARK <br /> WHEREAS, the Spring Lake Park Lions Club has donated <br /> approximately $200 ,000 over a two year period for improvements at <br /> Lakeside Park; and, <br /> WHEREAS, members of the Spring Lake Park Lions Club have <br /> donated numerous hours of labor on the improvements at Lakeside <br /> Park; and, <br /> WHEREAS , those improvements include the construction of a new <br /> beach house, retaining wall, 1/2 mile of sidewalk within the park, <br /> balifields and the planting of sod and trees; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the contribution of money and labor came at a time <br /> when the Cities of Spring Lake Park and Mounds View were <br /> experiencing significant reductions in State aid to cities; and, <br /> WHEREAS, is it unlikely that the cities would have been able <br /> to make these improvements without the generosity of the Spring <br /> Lake Park Lions Club. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Spring Lake Park City <br /> Council supports an addition to the name of Lakeside Park to <br /> Lakeside Lions Park in recognition of their contributions to the <br /> park. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the name, "Lakeside Lions Park" , <br /> is intended to reflect recognition and appreciation of the original <br /> founders of the park as well as the Spring Lake Park Lions Club who <br /> have provided much needed support in thes difficult economic <br /> times. / <br /> IWC/1/1 <br /> Harley%ells, Mayor <br /> ATTEST: <br /> Barbara L.
