ARTICLE 22. JOB CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM. <br /> 22.1 A 4 (four)level job classification system designated as Levels A, B, C and D will be used <br /> to classify employees and establish wages. <br /> 22.1.1 Public Services Worker-LEVEL A Requirements <br /> • High School Diploma GED, or equivalent. <br /> • Valid Minnesota Class C Driver's License. <br /> • Successful completion of City's physical examination. <br /> • Demonstrated ability to meet the physical demands of the job; including, but not <br /> limited to, lifting, bending, climbing, reaching overhead, pushing, and pulling with <br /> out restriction. <br /> • Demonstrated ability to read, understand, and follow written and oral instructions <br /> including safety rules. <br /> • Demonstrated ability to perform job responsibilities in climatic extremes. <br /> • Demonstrated ability to perform routine repair and maintenance tasks in the <br /> following sections: Streets, Parks, Building Maintenance, Sewer, Water, &Vehicle <br /> Maintenance <br /> 22.1.2 Public Services Worker-LEVEL B Requirements <br /> • Meet or exceed all Level A requirements; and <br /> • Successful completion of one or more years of relevant experience. <br /> • Possession of valid Minnesota Commercial Driver's license plus endorsements <br /> required by the CITY. <br /> • For current Level A employees, the following areas must be satisfactory on the <br /> most recent performance review: (For new employees coming in at Level B these <br /> areas will be judged by their references in relevant work experiences) <br /> • Safe work practices and safe driving record. <br /> • Adherence to tardiness and sick leave policies. <br /> • Demonstrated ability to deal effectively and tactfully with the public. <br /> • Demonstrated ability to work with a minimum of on-site supervision. <br /> • Working knowledge of job fundamentals. <br /> • Adherence to all City policies and procedures. <br /> 22.1.3 Public Service Worker-LEVEL C Requirements <br /> • Meet or exceed all Level B requirements; and <br /> • Successful completion of 3 or more years of relevant experience. <br /> • For employees with primary responsibility in the indicated area, the following <br /> license/certificate will be required. <br /> • All areas- Successful completion of a certified heavy equipment training <br /> program or equivalent training and experience. <br /> • Water- Class D Water Supply System Operator's Certificate <br /> • Sewer- Class S D Waste Water Operator's Certificate <br /> 10 <br />
