Management Meeting Minutes <br /> Wednesday, October 21, 1998 - 10:00 <br /> I. Department Reports <br /> Bruce Kessel stated that the YMCA asked about the City assisting with the location and funding for a computer station <br /> and locker area at the Community Center. Bruce stated that he will look into furnishing a computer station through <br /> alternative donations. Bruce reported that the Community Center Grand Opening is scheduled for January 24. <br /> Bruce stated that as more users have access to the new accounting software that we will need to purchase additional <br /> RAM. <br /> Nyle Zikmund reported that the fire department has the Arsenal fire protection contract.Nyle stated that he is the new <br /> Fire Marshal; Mr. Bishop has taken on a job with Crawford National as a fire investigator for insurance companies. <br /> John Hammerschmidt reported that the Bridges Golf Course was vandalized the early morning hours October 15. The <br /> damage estimate is not known at this time. However,there was significant damage to the course. John stated that repair <br /> to the greens and irrigation system should be completed by spring of 1999. <br /> Police Chief Ramacher reported that the crime of the week was the vandalism that took place at the Golf Course. The <br /> Chief reported that there are at least two suspects that committed the crime and there is a$1000 reward that will be <br /> posted throughout the community. <br /> Cari Schmidt reported that there will be election judge training Wednesday, October 28 and a candidate forum telecast <br /> on cable tv's channel 16, Tuesday, October 27. Cari stated that she is working on completing the city's AWAIR policy <br /> with the safety committee. <br /> Tracy Sanchez reported that she has received the proposals for the upgrade or replacement of the City's telephone <br /> system for City Hall and the Community Center. Either the upgrade or replacement of the system would allow for Y2K <br /> (Year 2000) compliance and for future growth. She has also received several proposals for T1, local and long distance <br /> suppliers, all of which would save money on the City's phone bills. <br /> Rick Jopke reported that there are continued discussions on the Mermaid project. Rick stated that Steve Dorgan is <br /> meeting with representatives for a home improvement fair for February of 1999. Rick stated that he received an offer <br /> from TOLD Development for$350,000 to purchase the city owned remanent parcel created when Edgewood Drive is <br /> realigned. <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> INFORMATION <br /> •,„ O LY <br />
