Page 10 <br /> July 13, 1998 <br /> Mounds View City Council <br /> MOTION/SECOND: Quick/Gunn to approve introduction of Ordinance No. 621, Granting a <br /> Franchise to MediaOne to construct, operate and maintain a cable communications system in the <br /> City of Mounds view, and setting forth the conditions accompanying the granting of such <br /> franchise. <br /> Stigney asked for clarification as to the property designations as submitted on the proposal. <br /> Whiting stated the requested information would be gathered and given to the Council as soon as it <br /> was made available by staff. <br /> VOTE: Ayes - 4 Nays - 0 Motion carried. <br /> G. Resolution No. 5252, Authorizing Requests for Proposals for Management of the <br /> Mounds View Community Center. <br /> Whiting gave his report as follows: <br /> • It was recommended that a committee made up of members of the City Council, Clerk <br /> Administrator, and members of the Park and Recreation Commission be formed to evaluate and <br /> negotiate with potential Community Center management firms or individuals. A report would be <br /> filed with the City Council no later than October 5, 1998 to assist them in making their choice of <br /> management companies or individuals. <br /> Gunn volunteered as a Council Liaison to the committee. <br /> Stigney requested that the Council review the RFPs before they are published for public viewing. <br /> MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Stigney to approve Resolution 5252, a Resolution Authorizing <br /> Requests for Proposals for management of the Mounds view Community Center. <br /> VOTE: Ayes - 4 Nays - 0 Motion Carried. <br /> H. Consideration of Appointment to Planning Commission <br /> Whiting told the Council he was recommending that the issue be tabled to give staff an <br /> opportunity to locate a list of names for potential Planning Commission candidates that had been <br /> submitted to staff and subsequently misplaced. When found, these names would be added to the <br /> current list of candidates and a selection would be made. <br /> • Stigney asked the City attorney to verify the fact that the Acting Mayor could or could not make <br />
