'
Dispute Resolution July 15, 1998
Center
TO: Mr. Dave Verness, Mr. Bruce Kessel, Director of Finance,
265 Oneida Street and Mr. Chuck Whiting, City Manager, City of Moundsview
St. Paul,MN 55102 FROM: Janeen Massaros, Director of Mediation Services
612.292.7791
fax:612.298.5729 I was contacted recently by Mr. Verness in regard to scheduling a mediation
session with above-named parties to discuss issues related to:
Damage to hood of his vehicle in the amount of$445.20 which occurred
on June 8, 1998 from basball hit out of playing field located at
Silverview Park
I ask that Mr. Kessel and Mr. Whiting contact me at 292-7791 to indicate
whether you are interested in meeting to resolve this matter and any
additional issues that may need to be discussed during mediation.
The Dispute Resolution Center is a non-profit mediation center designed to
help people resolve disputes. We are not advocates for any party. Rather,
we try to assist parties to resolve disputes through the use of mediation.
Mediation is a process where parties meet with a neutral mediator to discuss
the issues important to all concerned parties, explore possible solutions and
work toward developing a mutually agreeable resolution. Participation is
voluntary at every stage of the process. An agreement to mediate means
only that you are willing to meet with a mediator to discuss the issues that
exist between you. If no agreement is reached, you are free to pursue all
other options available to you.
Individual fees for our services are $25.00 per party, per session. However,
it is our policy that no one is turned away for inability to pay fees. If
you think you may qualify for a reduced fee, please indicate that
information at the time of intake. Business rates for mediation are $75.00
per session and non-profit agencies are assessed on a sliding scale.
Please contact me at your earliest convenience at 292-7791,and I will be
glad to answer any questions you many have concerning the process at that
time. If you agree to participate,we will schedule the session according to
the availability of all parties and the mediators.
c: Ms. Saarion, Parks and Recreation
