RESOLUTION NO. 5246 <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING STAFF TO ENTER INTO AN OPTION AGREEMENT <br /> TO PURCHASE THE MIDLAND VIDEEN PROPERTY AND TO SEND OUT A <br /> REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS TO SOLICIT DEVELOPER INTEREST <br /> WHEREAS,the property described as follows commonly known as the Midland Videen <br /> property is for sale: <br /> Lot 6, Block 5 Pinewood Terrace No. 2 subject to easements and except <br /> the north 300 feet more or less lying west of the east 66 feet thereof, and <br /> Lots 17 and 18 Pinewood Terrace No. 2. <br /> WHEREAS,the above described property is contiguous to the Mounds View <br /> Community Center site; and <br /> WHEREAS, the above described property would provide an opportunity to replace and <br /> mitigate the loss of a wetland do to the need to expand the parking available on on the Community <br /> Center site; and, <br /> WHEREAS,the above described property would provide an opportunity to provide trails <br /> and passive recreational uses which would enhance the adjacent Mounds View Community <br /> Center and City Hall sites; and <br /> WHEREAS,the City of Mounds View proposes to realign Edgewood Drive to align <br /> with the proposed access to theater to create a signalized and safer intersection; and <br /> WHEREAS,the City of Mounds View will have a remnant parcel contiguous to the <br /> above described property after the realignment of Edgewood Drive; and <br /> WHEREAS, it is a goal of the City of Mounds View to facilitate development on the <br /> above described property and the City's remnant site to enhance the City's tax base and to <br /> provide a quality aesthetic physical environment which enhances the adjacent city hall/ <br /> community center complex and enhances the existing wetland on the above described site. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council <br /> authorizes staff to obtain an option to purchase the above described property and to send out a <br /> Request for Proposals to facilitate well planned unified development of the above described <br /> property and the city-owned remnant parcel. <br /> Adopted this day of , 1998. <br />
