The plan acknowledges the need to review and update the City's storm water
management plan.
e. The plan states that there is no need for special measures to protect historically
significant properties.
f. This element includes discussion of
population, housing supply, future housing needs, housing goals and policies, and
programs which will be used to achieve the goals. The focus of the plan is on
maintaining and improving the existing housing stock of the City. The Planning
Commission just received a draft of this element and will begin discussion of it on
October 14th.
5. Public Facilities Element: This element is required and will include a transportation
plan, a sewer and water plan, and a parks and open space plan. Staff has begun drafting
a sewer and water plan and a parks and open space plan. Staff will utilize a consultant
to prepare a transportation plan. The Planning Commission will begin reviewing this
element when they complete their review of the housing element. The draft parks and
open space plan will presented to the Parks and Recreation Commission for their input.
6. Economic Development Element: This is an optional element. Staff is currently
working on updating the City's Economic Development Plan. Staff will present a draft
to the Planning Commission and the Economic Development Commission in
November.
7. Intergovernmental Coordination Element: This is an optional element. The I35W
Corridor Coalition is currently working on language for corridor communities to
include in this element.
8. This element will be
dependent on the final form of the rest of the plan and will be the last element drafted.
