MANAGEMENT MEETING MINUTES <br /> Wednesday,January 14, 1998 @ 10:00 AM <br /> I. Call to Order <br /> Meeting was called to order at 10:00 a.m. Present: Whiting, Ramacher,Jopke, Saarion, <br /> Kessel, Ulrich, Zikmund, Sanchez. Absent: Hammerschmidt, <br /> II. Department Reports - Zikmund reported that he would like to bring the new fire truck to <br /> the February 2 Work Session for council members to see. He stated that the old fire truck should <br /> sell in two to three months. Saarion reported that the Park and Recreation commission will <br /> review Rice Creek Trail at the next meeting and that she is working on marketing information for <br /> the Community Center. Saarion stated that the Parks and Recreation department will advertise <br /> for temporary office helper to start in March and will also seek an intern for the summer. Kessel <br /> reported that Tracy Juell in Public Works will take over the recycling responsibility. Ulrich <br /> discussed the fact that the City's storm water management system could have one regional pond <br /> area instead of five or six smaller ponds. Saarion stated that this could be incorporated into the <br /> LCMR grant she is working on. Jopke stated that if the pond was done right it could be a real <br /> benefit to the city. Whiting stated that this whole area needs to be researched. Ulrich reported a <br /> water pipe broke in the kitchen at the Community Center because of poor heat exchange. <br /> • Ramacher stated that he is still looking for a computer and that all performance appraisals for <br /> the Police Department will be completed by January 31. <br /> III. New Business - Staffing: Whiting stated that the council prefers hiring an EDA Coordinator <br /> that would report to the Community Development Director. The deadline for the position is <br /> February 20. Human Resource Technician/Administrative Assistant: Whiting passed out a <br /> job description and asked department heads for feedback. The consensus was to hire . 1998 <br /> Wage Schedule: Whiting stated that the 3% increase would be presented at the January 26 <br /> council meeting. <br /> IV.
