k <br /> Page3APPRovi� <br /> • February 23, 1998 ,, <br /> Mounds View City Council <br /> 1 With no further comments or questions from the Council,Mayor McCarty took this opportunity to thank <br /> 2 Ms. Gaertner,Mr.Rhodes and Mr.Zdrazil for their attendance and for the valuable information they <br /> 3 provided. <br /> 4 <br /> 5 8. REPORTS: <br /> 6 <br /> 7 Council member Stigney stated he has received several calls from residents in regard to the Nuisance letter <br /> 8 that they received. Mr.Whiting noted that this is in reference to possible violations of car parking. Staff <br /> 9 is trying to respond to complaints that have come in and is going out to identify violations. Letters were <br /> 10 sent out to possible violators and were not meant to imply that they are defmitely in violation. He noted <br /> 11 that this will be put on the agenda for the next Council Work Session for further discussion. <br /> 12 <br /> 13 Mayor McCarty noted a correction to a report which appeared in the Focus Newspaper. He proceeded to <br /> 14 read verbatim what was said at the last Council meeting to Ms.Haake and the citizens group in regard to <br /> 15 the way they conducted their input in the Spring Lake Road/County Road I Improvement Project and his <br /> 16 appreciation. He proceeded to read the report as it appeared in the Focus,noting that it the report was <br /> 17 neither accurate nor appropriate. <br /> 18 <br /> 19 Attorney Long gave an update on the Anoka County Airport issue. He noted that staff had directed him to <br /> •20 pursue legislation regarding the Anoka County Airport runway extension issue. There was a House <br /> 21 hearing,but it lost with a vote of 11 to 7. He noted that this legislation prompted discussion and may have <br /> 22 set some groundwork for future policy sessions. He explained that it appears that there could be many <br /> 23 other communities experiencing the same problems with MAC. He noted that the Council should begin <br /> 24 thinking about what steps they may want to take next. <br /> 25 <br /> 26 9. NEXT COUNCIL WORK SESSION:March 2.1998-6:00 p.m. <br /> 27 NEXT COUNCIL MEETING: March 9. 1998- 7:00 p.m <br /> 28 <br /> 29 10.
