c or CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW Agenda Section 15.
REQUEST FOR COUNCIL CONSIDERATION Report Number:%- ( E96oW5
Oli 'j"n'`' STAFF REPORT Report Date: 10/31/96
1+4
.
% ifiw COUNCIL WORKSHOP MEETING DATE —
4'°s=•a:e0"eS November 4, 1996 _ Special Order of Bus.
Consent Agenda
_
Public Hearings
X Council Business
Item Description: Disposition of Surplus Property
Executive Director's Review/Recommendation:
-No Comments to supplement this report
-Comments attached.
Explanation/Summary(attach supplement sheets as necessary)
Summary: This item was tabled at Tuesday's meeting with a request for some further discussion. In addition to
the comments I made in my memo, I am asking all departments to determine their surplus items and submit them
to me for disposition. I am interested in establishing a process to dispose of surplus property that first requires
minimal work for staff, second ensures the City is able to account for all fixed asset materials, and third creates
a clearly impartial and fair process for disposing. Rather than decide on the items in the memo from Kitty
Hickock, I would like the Council to discuss this manner of handling surplus. There did appear to be some
questions regarding the Bel Rae items and perhaps some discussion should take place on that. Getting back to
the general policy for disposition, having the Council approve a list of items to be surplused is something I am
assuming the Council will want. Therefore for Monday evening, I would prefer a general discussion about this
issue as a general policy manner and direction for me to take.
•&..., 1 ) ( .
Chuck Whiting, Cit dministrator
RECOMMENDATION:
III
