RESOLUTION NO. 5053 • <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> RESOLUTION APPROVING ENTERING A JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT WITH THE CITIES OF ARDEN <br /> HILLS,BLAINE,NEW BRIGHTON,ROSEVILLE, <br /> CIRCLE PINES AND SHOREVIEW HERETOFORE REFERRED TO AS <br /> THE NORTH METRO I-35W CORRIDOR COALITION <br /> WHEREAS,the Cities of Arden Hills,Blaine,Mounds View,New Brighton,Roseville and Shoreview(North Metro I-35 W <br /> Corridor Coalition Cities)directly bordering or in close proximity to the North Metro portion of Interstate I-35W(I-35W); <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS,the North Metro I-35W Corridor Coalition Cities have commenced a collaborative effort to discuss,identify <br /> and address macro economic development,housing,transportation,contaminated lands,employee training needs,and other <br /> physical land use and community planning issues along the entire I-35W corridor,and <br /> WHEREAS, the North Metro I-35W Corridor Coalition Cities intend to utilize this information to guide and support <br /> development of essential transportation and infrastructure improvements along the I-35W Corridor,as well as to assist in <br /> determining appropriate mass transit policies,and for assisting to develop a coordinated/collaborative data base and GIS <br /> system,compatible with the metropolitan GIS system;and <br /> WHEREAS,the North Metro I-35 W Corridor Coalition Cities desire to utilize this strategic alliance to assist in marketing <br /> and guiding development along t the I-35W Corridor;and <br /> WHEREAS, the success of this collaborative effort will be dependent upon having access to adequate resources to • <br /> comprehensively research and address the critical issues that impact North Metro I-35W Corridor Coalition Cities and the <br /> I-35W Corridor,and <br /> WHEREAS, a joint powersagreement with the communities of Arden Hills, Blaine, Mounds View, New Brighton, <br /> Roseville,Circle Pines and Shoreview provides the best mechanism for addressing and achieving these concerns for the area <br /> and for the City of Mounds View. <br /> NOW THEREFORE,be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Mounds View to authorize the Mayor and Clerk- <br /> Administrator to execute the Joint Powers Agreement for the North Metro I-35W Corridor Coalition on behalf of the City <br /> of Mounds View. <br /> • <br /> Adopted this 25th day of November, 1996 <br /> ATTEST: <br /> Jerome Linke,Mayor <br /> (SEAL) <br /> Charles S.
