Park Improvements: Entails the replacement of old or damaged equipment, installation of new <br /> facilities, and acquisition and development or preservation of parklands, trails and open spaces. <br /> • <br /> Park Maintenance: Provides for safe, aesthetic, functional and diverse park facilities and amenities <br /> which offer people opportunities to pursue recreational activities and interests. <br /> Park Administration: Administers the duties of documentation, communication, reporting, park file <br /> retention, park ordinance regulations, grant preparation, budgeting, the facility permitting process and <br /> other activities required for park activities and facilities management. <br /> Sales and Marketing: Publicizes City sponsored programs and activities. The program provides, <br /> through an information campaign, a list of activities being offered and procedures of registering and <br /> participating. <br /> Programming: Includes the organization, coordination, collaboration, community liaison work and <br /> sponsorship endeavors that result in community activities and program opportunities. <br /> Athletic Field Maintenance: Prepares the athletic fields for games and tournaments and keeps them in <br /> safe and functional playing order. Athletic fields include both city park and school district facilities <br /> including softball, baseball, football and soccer fields. <br /> Reforestation: Provides for planting, reforestation and protection of trees in the parks, city entries, <br /> corner lots, streets and boulevards. <br /> • Tree Disease Control: Provides city-wide diseased tree inspection. Focus is placed on treatment or <br /> removal to eliminate the spread of fungus and insect diseases. <br /> Cable Casting City Meetings: Increases citizen awareness of city government functions. The program <br /> also provides cable casting of agendas of Commission and City Council meetings. <br /> Cable Casting Public Information Programs: Informs the public of activities and events, topics and <br /> issues related to the community. <br /> Youth Recreation Activities: Include after school activities, school vacation activities, youth athletic <br /> programs, trips, safety programs, instructional classes, skill development programs, clinics, pre-school <br /> programs and special events. <br /> Adult Recreation Activities: Encompasses athletic leagues, instructional classes, trips, clubs, wellness <br /> programs, safety programs, social activities (such as 500 tournaments and cribbage) and garden club. <br /> Golf Course Operations: Provides an enjoyable golfing experience for the customer, and in return, is a <br /> enterprise program of the City. <br /> General Recreation Activities: Includes special events such as Festival in'the Park, Mounds View <br /> tipCommunity Theater, Garden Club and other service programs. <br /> Swimming: Specializes in swimming instruction, water safety, open swims and pool rentals. <br />
