HIGHWAY I0 GOAL #I <br /> Improve the aesthetic appearance of Highway 10 in order to <br /> maintain a fully developed and occupied highway business corridor. <br /> HIGHWAY 10 GOAL #I ACTION STATEMENTS <br /> • Work cooperatively with the landscape unit of MN/DOT to coordinate and use their Com- <br /> munity Roadside Enhancement Program. <br /> • Coordinate with and make use of the knowledge of the Mounds View City Forester. <br /> • Solicit a design firm to develop a plan using lighting,flowers and grassy areas to beautify the <br /> Highway 10 corridor. <br /> • Make use of service groups(i.e.Lions,Scouts)to volunteer time and/or money for aesthetic <br /> improvement of the Highway 10 corridor. <br /> • Develop incentives for local businesses to improve sites by adding greenspace,flowers, etc. <br /> • Work with the Parks Department to implement their plan to connect bicycle and walking <br /> trails throughout the City to Highway 10. <br /> HIGHWAY 10 GOAL #2 <br /> Increase vehicle and pedestrian accessibility to <br /> businesses along Highway 10 <br /> HIGHWAY 10 GOAL #2 ACTION STEPS <br /> • Consider amending portions of the City sign code to allow for increased directional <br /> signage along Highway 10. <br /> • Take an active role in the planning of exits, entrances, and turn-arounds in and around <br /> Highway 10. <br /> • Develop methods for connecting the northern and southern sections of town across <br /> Highway 10, such as by building a pedestrian and bicycle bridge at Long Lake Road or <br /> County Road I. <br /> 411 <br /> 30 <br />
