DNR has provided to us a list of the changes <br /> needed to bring the City's ordinance into compliance. Revisions have been drafted and contained in the <br /> attached Ordinance No. 589. The proposed ordinance has been reviewed by the City Attorney, who suggested <br /> changes have been incorporated. Mr. Joe Richter, representing the Minnesota DNR, has reviewed the <br /> proposed ordinance and notified us by telephone that it is acceptable and includes all of the changes requested <br /> by DNR. A summary of the changes is as follows: <br /> • Revision to the definition of"Structure" to add reference to Travel Trailers and Travel Vehicles, and <br /> addition of a definition of Travel Trailer and Travel Vehicle (p. 1) <br /> • Revision to the section on Flood Insurance Notice and Record Keeping to remove the specific dollar <br /> amount insurance may increase (p. 2) <br /> • Allows for travel trailers and travel vehicles as a permitted use in the Flood Plain Zoning District, with <br /> the addition of areas exempted for placement of such trailers and vehicles and criteria for when this <br /> exemption is lost. Additional language allows for new commercial travel trailer or travel vehicle parks <br /> or campgrounds and new residential type subdivisions and condominium associations in the floodway <br /> or flood fringe if they meet certain criteria. (p. 2-3) <br /> • Adds more specific language regarding accessory structures, and how they must be elevated or <br /> floodproofed (p. 5) <br /> • Adds more specific language as to how nonconforming structures may be changed, and when such <br /> structures must meet the standards for new structures (p. 7-8) <br /> Introduction of this ordinance will require a roll call vote. <br /> Pame a Sheldon, Community Development Director <br />
