Please try to attend <br /> to show strong Council support for the business community. <br /> Cathy <br /> PARKS, RECREATION AND FORESTRY <br /> 1.111) <br /> RECREATION: <br /> The Community Theatre play"Annie" finished it's last performance on Sunday,August 4. It was <br /> a huge success with Friday,August 2 being a near sell-out performance. I hope many of you were <br /> able to see the show, it was very professional. <br /> Mary sent out the schedules for the Fall Softball Leagues. Marv, Andy, Margaret and myself <br /> completed the programming for the Fall. I escorted two buses of seniors to see"Sister Amnesia's <br /> Nunsense.Jamboree" and am trying complete the September/October brochure before vacation. <br /> PARKS: <br /> Mowing continues as usual. The crew had to do some clean-up of downed trees and branches after <br /> the storm. Picnics continue every weekend at Silver View and City Hall. Silver View is booked <br /> every Saturday and Sunday through September. The crew is doing equipment and playground <br /> maintenance now that field-grooming has died down a bit for this week. <br /> Kids are enjoying the big purple dinosaur and other new play equipment at Random Park. Stop by <br /> to see it if you haven't already. The pre-school classes really are enjoying it. <br /> GOLF COURSE: <br /> On Friday,August 8, John hosted the first annual"Mayor's Cup" Golf Tournament. There were <br /> 24 participants representing the cities of Mounds View,New Brighton, Arden Hills, Shoreview, <br /> Roseville and School District 621. They golfed at Island Lake Golf Course,Brightwood Hills and <br /> The Bridges. <br /> Mary is on vacation at the lake and hopefully getting in a lot of relaxation. <br /> Sharie <br />
