Consideration of Engineering Proposals to Relocate Surface Water Pond. <br /> Mike Ulrich explained that at the June 3, 1996 work session,staff informed the council of the expense and <br /> long term maintenance issues relating to the construction of the pedestrian bridge within the surface water <br /> pond adjacent to the Bridgeman's property. Approximately two months ago,the city received two <br /> proposals for engineering services to move the pond and proceed through the permitting process. <br /> After reviewing the two bids,staff recommended that the engineering study be awarded to SEH in the <br /> amount of$6,900 to relocate the surface water pond to City property, in conjunction with the pedestrian <br /> bridge project. The funds for this would be utilized from the Surface Water Management fund. <br /> MOTION/SECOND: Trude/Blanchard to authorize staff to sign the agreement letter with SEH to complete <br /> an engineering analysis to relocate the surface water pond adjacent to Bridgeman's,for the construction of <br /> the pedestrian bridge for the amount of$6,900,to be funded from the Surface Water Management Fund, <br /> System Maintenance 420-4122-303,Professional Services. <br /> VOTE: 4 ayes 1 nay(Quick) Motion Carried <br /> G. Authorization to Offer the Community Development Director position to Pamela Sheldon. <br /> Mr. Whiting explained that he would like to offer the Community Development Director position to <br /> Pamela Sheldon of Colorado. Ms. Sheldon has considerable experience and is very qualified. He is in the <br /> process of completing the background check and would like to obtain approval pending its satisfactory <br /> completion. <br /> MOTION/SECOND: Trude/Hankner to authorize staff to offer the Community Development Director <br /> position to Pamela Sheldon pending completion of the background check. <br /> VOTE: 5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried <br /> REPORTS: <br /> Report of Council members: <br /> Quick: No report. <br /> Blanchard: No report. <br /> Hankner: Ms.Hankner stated she received a telephone call from Gordy Voss, former State Representative <br /> who is doing some volunteer work for the hockey arena at the Blaine Sports facility. She suggested the <br /> both Paul Erickson and himself come and give some information to the council as well as the general <br /> public. <br />
