Page 2 April 22, 1996 • Mounds View City Council • 11. (D.) Consideration of Hiring of Keith Czarnecki for the Position of Police Officer Starting Tentatively on May 6, 1996. Tim Ramacher,Police Chief,explained that a Police Officer recently resigned which left a vacant position in the department. The department recently filled another position and during that process they interviewed numerous applicants and developed a list of potential candidates. For the vacant position, they would like to take the next candidate on the list, Keith Czarnecki. Chief Ramacher gave the council a brief summary of Mr.Czarnecki's qualifications. MOTION/SECOND: Hankner/Blanchard to authorize the hiring of Keith Czarnecki to the position of Police Officer,starting on or about May 6, 1996,with a probationary period of one year and the starting salary and benefits to be in accordance with the union contract. VOTE: 5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried APPROVAL OF MINUTES: a.April 8, 1996 Regular City Council Meeting. MOTION/SECOND: Hankner/Trude to approve the minutes of the Regular City Council Meeting on April 8, 1986,as presented. VOTE: 5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried ACCEPTANCE OF ADVISORY COMMISSION MINUTES: There were no Advisory Commission minutes presented for acceptance. SPECIAL ORDER OF BUSINESS: a. Adoption and Presentation of Resolution No.4938,Recognizing and Commending Sharon Kosel as Recipient of Mounds View Education Association's "Outstanding Layperson in Education"Award. MOTION/SECOND: Trude/Hankner to adopt Resolution No.4938,Recognizing and Commending Sharon Kosel as Recipient of Mounds View Education Association's "Outstanding Layperson in Education"Award. VOTE: 5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried Mayor Linke took this opportunity to read Resolution No.4938 aloud,and present Ms.Kosel with her award. S
