He explained that the court order and agreement that the City Council
signed with the Metropolitan Airports Commission in 1986 states that the Metropolitan Airport
Commission agreed to develop the airport according to the 1983 master plan for the Anoka County Airport
(designed predominantly for use by types D&E aircraft). The Lion's Club is now being told that they
are preparing for heavier weight class aircraft, which Mr.McCarty feels is not in compliance with the
agreement.
Mr.McCarty explained that the current master plan for the airport is to accommodate intermediate class
aircraft. He feels it would be helpful for the Council to go back and review the agreement to determine
what the city's rights are under the past agreements and plans for the airport. He is not convinced that plans
are proceeding in compliance with the agreements.
Mr.Linke noted that the City has an Airport Task Committee set up to look at these types of issues and
asked that Mr.McCarty bring this matter to their attention..
Mayor Linke noted he would be moving Item 11 (E)up for consideration.
11 (E).
