1
(4111-1-11---11THIS IS
FOR THE WEEK OF APRIL 29 - MAY 3, 1996
ADMINISTRATION
• It has been a busy two weeks. Lynnette and Tim Ramacher and I have been meeting
regarding the LELS contract. I would like to meet with Councilmembers on some of the
issues that come up just to know the parameters of negotiating that I have.
• In other issues, I have been involved in some regional meetings. First, last week several
communities along I-35W met to discuss common issues. GIS, land use and interchanges
were the main topics. Expect to hear more as we go. I sense a group with lobbying
capabilities here.
• I also met with the National Sports Center Quad Ice Rink committee yesterday. I will
want to discuss this more with Council on Monday evening. Essentially, the group
decided to push on a 60 time table for commitments to such a facility. I sense this is
intended to get the ball rolling so to speak. This will certainly be a wide task to grasp and
will warrant discussion at the Council level.
• I briefly went to the Mayaquest event. The Governor did not show. I have also tried to
get in touch with Duane McCarty on the airport issue, but have not been successful.
• I also met with Ramsey County Administrators on Wednesday for breakfast and on
Thursday for breakfast with the Community Education community leaders program. Both
were interesting and I met lots of people.
