If any room in a building has a sloping ceiling, the prescribed ceiling height for the room <br /> • is required in only one-half('/2)the area thereof. No portions of the room measuring less <br /> than five feet(5') from the finished floor to the finished ceiling shall be included in any <br /> computation of the minimum area thereof. <br /> If any room has a furred ceiling, the prescribed ceiling height is required in two-thirds <br /> (2/3) the area thereof, but in no case shall the height of the furred ceiling be less than <br /> seven feet(7'). <br /> b. Floor Area: Dwelling units and rooming units shall have at least one (1) room which <br /> shall have not less than one hundred twenty (120) square feet of floor area. Other <br /> habitable rooms, except kitchens, shall have an area of not less than seventy (70) square <br /> feet. Where more than two (2)persons occupy a room for sleeping purposes, the required <br /> floor area shall be increased at the rate of fifty (50) square feet for each occupant. <br /> Sec. 3. Section 1005.12, subdivision 2 of the Mounds View City Code is amended by <br /> adding a new subparagraph to read: <br /> d. The certificate shall state that the structure has been inspected and is in compliance <br /> with the requirements of this Chapter. <br /> Sec. 4. Section 1005.12, subdivision 4 of the Mounds View City Code is amended to <br /> 41111 read: <br /> Subd. 4. Annual Renewal of Registration: The owner of a multiple dwelling or his <br /> agent shall annually apply for a renewal of the certificate of registration on <br /> or before September Mareh 30. Renewal of the registration is contingent <br /> upon compliance of this Chapter. <br /> Sec. 5. Section 1005.12, subdivision 5 of the Mounds View City Code is amended to <br /> read: <br /> Subd. 5. Transfer of Registration: A certificate of registration for the unexpired <br /> portion of the licensed term is transferrable, for a fee of fifteen dollars <br /> ($15), to any person who has actually acquired legal ownership of a <br /> registered building for thc unexpired portion of thc tcrm for which is was <br /> issued or rcissucd; provided, that thc application to transfer such <br /> registration is filed with thc Building Inspcction Department prior to <br /> actual change of legal ownership. It is the responsibility of the current <br /> owner to notify the purchaser that a transfer must be filed with the <br /> Building Inspection Department immediately upon acquiring legal <br /> ownership. The license shall terminate upon failure to apply for its <br /> transfer within 30 days following the prior to change of legal ownership. <br /> Sec. 6.
