• Two new mowers and one new parks truck were purchased resulting in remarkable in- <br /> crease in mowing productivity and efficiency with the reduction of equipment repair and <br /> III down time. <br /> • Expanded recruitment of the Festival Committee and heightened efforts for Festival <br /> contributions resulted in record setting volunteers and contributions collected for the <br /> parade and other Festival activities. <br /> • The Department employed over 62 youth, providing a good work experience and pay- <br /> check for youth of the community. <br /> • This year athletic fields were requested by youth leagues for the longest demanded <br /> timespan than ever before with athletic field usage beginning in April and extending to <br /> the end of October. <br /> • new programs were offered to the community, providing assistance and services to those <br /> with needs, providing opportunities for new and different experiences, following trends <br /> and interests and expanding skills in leisure recreational activities. <br /> Each Department Division accomplished programs and activities which benefit the quality of <br /> life for the residents of the community. The goals achieved by each Division is provided in this <br /> report. In addition, there is much information regarding the 1995 activities and accomplish- <br /> ments of the Department. Please review this annual report so that you become aware of the <br /> • full impact that the Department has had on the residents of the community. <br /> As always, there is an endless list of people who volunteer their services to the community in <br /> parks and recreation activities. To them, we give a great big THANKS. Their energetic and <br /> dedicated contribution continues to be greatly appreciated by ail those that benefit from their <br /> caring and sharing service. <br /> • <br />
