The expansion
would result in 23 of the existing parking spaces being eliminated and leaving 454 spaces on the site. The
Planning Commission approved a variance in the parking ratios and has recommended that the Council
approve a Conditional Use Permit for the joint use of parking facilities at Mounds View Square Shopping
Center. This would allow parking requirements to be adjusted where there are two or more uses located
on the same property which have offsetting parking demands. The Planning Commission feels that the
difference between required spaces and available spaces could be addressed through joint use between
daytime and nighttime uses of the parking spaces.
Ms. Sheldon noted that the recommendation by the Planning Commission requires that some conditions be
met. She proceeded to address these.
1111 Ms.Trude noted that these are merely perspective plans and by approving the Conditional Use Permit,it
provides the owners the ability to address the concerns prior to negotiating with any prospective tenant.
