June 27, 2016, Executive Session Meeting Minutes. 7 <br /> 8 <br />Mayor Flaherty reviewed the reason the City Council met in an Executive Closed Session, noting 9 <br />the Council reviewed the City Administrator’s job performance. 10 <br /> 11 <br />Mayor Flaherty reported that the Council had gone into closed session to conduct a performance 12 <br />review on Administrator Ericson and that it was the consensus of the Council that Mr. Ericson 13 <br />was meeting or exceeding the Council’s expectations. 14 <br /> 15 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Hull. Reports of Mayor and Council. 22 <br /> 23 <br />Council Member Hull discussed Lou Gehrig’s famous speech about being the luckiest man alive. 24 <br />He explained he was diagnosed with cancer this spring and this had really changed his 25 <br />perspective on life. He discussed all of the physical and mental things he has been going through 26 <br />in the past months and thanked his girlfriend Tasha for giving him strength. 27 <br /> 28 <br />Council Member Hull stepped down from the dais and asked his girlfriend to become his wife. 29 <br />She said yes and there was a round of applause by all in attendance. 30 <br /> 31 <br />Mayor Flaherty offered his congratulations to both Council Member Hull and his fiancé. 32 <br /> 33 <br />Council Member Mueller congratulated Tasha and Council Member Hull as well. 34 <br /> 35 <br />Council Member Mueller encouraged the public to participate in Festival in the Park on 36 <br />Saturday, August 20th. She noted the Festival in the Park Committee would meet next on 37 <br />Tuesday, July 19th at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall. Those interested in volunteering were encouraged to 38 <br />attend this meeting. 39 <br /> 40 <br />Council Member Meehlhause stated he attended New Brighton Public Safety Director Bob 41 <br />Jacobson’s retirement party last Thursday. He indicated this was a very well attended event that 42 <br />lasted well over two hours. He wished Mr. Jacobson well in his retirement. 43 <br /> 44
