To Waive the First Reading and Introduce Ordinance 925, an 2 <br />Ordinance Amending Title 500, Chapter 502 to add Micro Breweries, National Breweries, 3 <br />Regional Breweries, Brewpubs, Distilled Spirits, Microdistilleries and Taprooms Business 4 <br />Licensing to the Liquor Code. 5 <br /> 6 <br /> Ayes – 4 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 7 <br /> 8 <br />Mayor Flaherty requested Item J be discussed next. The Council was in agreement with this 9 <br />suggestion. 10 <br /> 11 <br />J. Resolution 8617, Authorizing the Sending of Notice of Termination of Lease 12 <br />to Creative Kids Academy – Mounds View, Inc. 13 <br /> 14 <br />City Administrator Ericson stated this item was reviewed by the Council at a recent worksession 15 <br />with representatives from the YMCA in attendance. He reported staff received a proposal from 16 <br />the YMCA to provide childcare at the community center. He explained the YMCA was aware 17 <br />the City had a lease with the current tenant (Creative Kids Academy) through July of 2018. He 18 <br />commented there was a clause in the lease agreement that allows for early termination by 19 <br />providing a one-year written notice to the tenant. It was noted staff had reached out to the 20 <br />owners of Creative Kids Academy, however the owner was out of the country. He indicated a 21 <br />conversation was held via phone and through email correspondence with the owner where he 22 <br />requested a decision by the Council be deferred to the August 22nd City Council meeting. 23 <br /> 24 <br />Council Member Meehlhause supported the matter being postponed to August 22nd. 25 <br /> 26 <br />Council Member Hull and Council Member Gunn were in agreement. 27 <br /> 28 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Meehlhause/Hull. To Postpone Action on Resolution 8617, Authorizing 29 <br />the Sending of Notice of Termination of Lease to Creative Kids Academy – Mounds View, Inc., 30 <br />to the Monday, August 22, 2016 City Council Meeting. 31 <br /> 32 <br /> Ayes – 4 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 33 <br /> 34 <br />E. Resolution 8615, Authorization to Advertise for the Housing/Code 35 <br />Enforcement Inspector Position. 36 <br /> 37 <br />Assistant City Administrator Crane reported Craig Swalchick has resigned his position with the 38 <br />City effective August 10th. She requested the Council authorize the advertisement for the 39 <br />housing/code enforcement inspector position. Staff reviewed the proposed hiring timeline and 40 <br />recommended the Council authorize staff to advertise the position. 41 <br /> 42 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Meehlhause.
