Resolution 8654, Accept Improvements and Approve Final Payment for 2014 5 <br />Street and Utility Improvement Project, Area G. 6 <br /> 7 <br />Public Works Director Erickson requested the Council accept the improvements and approve the 8 <br />final payment for the 2014 Street and Utility Improvement Project for Area G. He discussed the 9 <br />work that was completed by Northwest Asphalt in 2016 and explained a budget amendment 10 <br />would not be necessary. Staff recommended approval of the final payment for Area G. 11 <br /> 12 <br />Council Member Mueller recalled that this was the first street improvement project that was not 13 <br />completed within a year. She asked if staff understood why the contract was not completed in a 14 <br />more timely manner. Public Works Director Erickson believed this had to do with an early snow 15 <br />that occurred in 2014. 16 <br /> 17 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Meehlhause. Resolution 8664, Approving the Hire of Sarah David to the Position of Patrol 24 <br />Officer within the Mounds View Police Department. 25 <br /> 26 <br />Acting City Administrator Crane requested the Council approve the hire of Sarah David to the 27 <br />position of Patrol Officer within the Mounds View Police Department. She explained a vacancy 28 <br />within the department was created after the resignation of Officer Daniel Stone. She reported 29 <br />this position was a critical fill and staff recommended approval of the Sarah David as 30 <br />recommended by the Police Civil Service Commission. 31 <br /> 32 <br />Mayor Flaherty questioned if this hire would bring the department up to full staffing numbers. 33 <br />Police Chief Harder stated this was the case. He then provided the Council with the employment 34 <br />history of Ms. David. 35 <br /> 36 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/.
