RESOLUTION NO. 8357 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA APPROVING THE HIRING OF RILEY SOLZ AND ANDREW RONNING TO THE POSITION OF POLICE OFFICER WHEREAS, the City Council has approved the establishment of an eligibility list for the position of Police Officer for current vacancies in the Police Department, and the Police Civil Service Commission has approved the procedures for establishing an eligibility register to fill these vacancies, and; WHEREAS, the approved hiring procedures consist of an application, a supplemental application questionnaire and score sheet, training and experience scoring, two rounds of oral interviews, physical agility testing, a thorough background investigation, physical examination and a psychological examination and; WHEREAS, the Civil Service Commission has certified the eligibility list for the openings, and Riley Solz and Andrew Ronning emerged as the top two candidates standing on the eligibility register, and their background investigations, medical, psychological, and physical agility testing have all been successfully completed, and; WHEREAS, staff of the Police Department has met with Riley Solz and Andrew Ronning, and the Chief of Police recommends that both candidates be appointed to the position of Police Officer. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota does hereby appoint Riley Solz, as the first hired police officer and Andrew Ronning as the second hired police officer effective February 2, 2015 at the step one rate of pay ($22.18/hr) as indicated in the Law Enforcement Labor Services contract.
