To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 8340, 3 <br />Approving Various Appointments to City Commissions and Committees adding Dave Long. 4 <br /> 5 <br />Council Member Meehlhause indicated the Planning Commission will be appointing a Chair and 6 <br />Vice Chair in January of 2015. 7 <br /> 8 <br />Council Member Mueller asked if the City honored residents for serving on a committee or 9 <br />commission after their term expires. Assistant City Administrator Crane explained that each was 10 <br />presented with a Certificate of Appreciation for their service to the City of Mounds View. These 11 <br />certificates would be awarded at the first Council meeting in January of 2015. 12 <br /> 13 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 14 <br /> 15 <br />F. Resolution 8341, Approving a Revised Job Description and Authorization to 16 <br />Advertise for the Public Works Director. 17 <br /> 18 <br />Assistant City Administrator Crane commented that Public Works Director Nick DeBar’s last 19 <br />day with the City would be December 19th. She indicated the Council reviewed this positions job 20 <br />description at their December worksession and suggested several minor changes. She 21 <br />recommended the Council approve the revised job description and authorize staff to advertise for 22 <br />a Public Works Director with an open deadline. 23 <br /> 24 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Hull. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 8341, 25 <br />Approving a Revised Job Description and Authorization to Advertise for the Public Works 26 <br />Director. 27 <br /> 28 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 29 <br /> 30 <br />G. Resolution 8342, Approving Public Works Supervisor Don Peterson as 31 <br />Interim Public Works Director. 32 <br /> 33 <br />Assistant City Administrator Crane reported that due to the recent resignation of Public Works 34 <br />Director Nick DeBar, staff was recommending that the Council approve the temporary 35 <br />appointment of Public Works Supervisor Don Peterson as the Interim Public Works Director, 36 <br />with a 5% increase to his salary effective December 20th. 37 <br /> 38 <br />Mayor Flaherty recommended that staff review the language within the personnel manual and see 39 <br />if Mr. Peterson would have to assume 75% of the Public Works Director’s position. City 40 <br />Administrator Ericson commented he would review this and report back to the Council. 41 <br /> 42 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Meehlhause. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 8342, 43 <br />Approving Public Works Supervisor Don Peterson as Interim Public Works Director. 44 <br /> 45
