Item No: 7A <br />Meeting Date: January 26, 2015 <br />Type of Business: Public Hearing <br />Administrator Review: _______ <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Heidi Heller, Planning Associate <br />Item Title/Subject: Public Hearing - Introduction and First Reading of Ordinance <br />895, Amending Chapter 1116 of the Mounds View Municipal <br />Code Pertaining to Uses in the Industrial Zoning District <br /> <br /> <br />The Planning Commission discussed adding additional uses to the industrial district zoning <br />code to accommodate uses that are currently existing in industrial zoned properties, such as <br />medical supply and pharmaceutical companies. There are also many conditional uses in the <br />industrial zoning district, and the Planning Commission agreed that some could be changed <br />to an allowed use. <br /> <br />The Commission was supportive of adding medical supply and pharmacy to the allowed <br />uses, and also felt it was appropriate to change some current conditional uses to be allowed <br />uses. In addition, as Staff was researching the I-1, Industrial District, and noticed that the <br />use “warehouses” is listed both as a permitted use and as a conditional use. The Planning <br />Commission agreed that it should be a permitted use, and deleted from the conditional uses. <br />Ordinance 895 was drafted with the recommended changes to the Industrial Zoning Code. <br /> <br />Recommendation <br />Staff recommends the Council adopt Ordinance 895.
