Mounds View City Council January 12, 2015 <br />Regular Meeting Page 3 <br /> <br /> 1 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Mueller. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 8364, a 2 <br />Resolution of Appreciation for Barbara Haake for her Years of Service on the NSCC/NSAC 3 <br />Commission. 4 <br /> 5 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 6 <br /> 7 <br /> F. Resolution 8365, a Resolution of Appreciation for Nancy Kracl for her Years 8 <br />of Service on the NSCC/NSAC Commission. 9 <br /> 10 <br />Mayor Flaherty read a Resolution of Appreciation in full thanking Nancy Kracl for her dedicated 11 <br />service to the NSCC/NSAC Commission. 12 <br /> 13 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Hull. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 8365, a 14 <br />Resolution of Appreciation for Nancy Kracl for her Years of Service on the NSCC/NSAC 15 <br />Commission. 16 <br /> 17 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 18 <br /> 19 <br />Council Member Mueller was proud to live in a community where the public was engaged and 20 <br />involved in the City. 21 <br /> 22 <br />Mayor Flaherty thanked all of the volunteers for serving the community on the City’s 23 <br />commissions and committees. A round of applause was offered by the Council and staff. 24 <br /> 25 <br />7. COUNCIL BUSINESS 26 <br />A. Resolution 8359, Selection of the City’s Official Newspaper. 27 <br /> 28 <br />Assistant City Administrator Crane requested the Council select the City’s Official Newspaper. 29 <br />She reviewed proposals from three local papers and recommended the Council select an official 30 <br />newspaper. 31 <br /> 32 <br />Council Member Gunn was in favor of staying with The Sun Focus. She believed that this 33 <br />publication did an excellent job with their distribution and covering the City of Mounds View. 34 <br /> 35 <br />Council Member Mueller agreed that The Sun Focus covered more of the events taking place in 36 <br />Mounds View. 37 <br /> 38 <br />Council Member Meehlhause believed that The Bulletin covered other communities well, but did 39 <br />not serve the residents of Mounds View. 40 <br /> 41 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Meehlhause. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 8359, 42 <br />Selection of the City’s Official Newspaper (The Sun Focus and Pioneer Press). 43 <br /> 44 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 45
