RESOLUTION 8554 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE 2016 TWIN CITIES GATEWAY MEMBER CITY MARKETING GRANT WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View is a member of the local Convention and Tourism Bureau, Twin Cities Gateway; and WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View has enacted a tax on lodging within the City to help fund Twin Cities Gateway, along with eight other member cities, in accordance with Minnesota Statutes Section 469.190; and WHEREAS, Twin Cities Gateway’s Member City Marketing Grant program provides each member city with an annual grant based on the percentage of lodging taxes collected from the prior year; and WHEREAS, upon the executed “Mounds View 2016 Member City Marketing Grant Agreement” between Twin Cities Gateway and the City of Mounds View, the City will receive $8,672.00 in grant funding in 2016; and WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View is responsible to disperse the grant funds to the community festival(s) and/or event(s) that the City wants to support; and WHEREAS, the grant funds shall be used for marketing and promotional efforts that extend beyond the City’s borders in order to draw tourists to the community. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mounds View City Council does hereby accept the 2016 Twin Cities Gateway Member City Marketing Grant in the amount of $7.712 for the marketing and promotion of the August 20, 2016, Mounds View Festival in the Park Celebration. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mounds View City Council does hereby accept the 2016 Twin Cities Gateway City Marketing Grant in the amount of $1,500 to use for website restructuring to market, promote programs and events at the Mounds View Community Center.
