<br />RESOLUTION NO. 8404 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />County of Ramsey <br />State of Minnesota <br /> <br />ADOPTING A CALENDAR FOR THE PREPARATION OF THE 2016 BUDGET <br /> <br /> <br />WHEREAS , the City’s Charter and Code as well as State Statutes set forth various <br />requirements for considering and adopting components of the City’s budget; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 7.04 of the City Charter requires the City Administrator to submit to the <br />City Council a budget calendar to be established by resolution, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the calendar is an approximate schedule of when these actions will take place <br />but is not absolute timeline. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View <br />that the following budget and long term financial plan calendar is hereby adopted: <br /> <br /> <br />June 1, 2015 City Council discusses budget priorities at a work session. <br /> <br />June 26, 2015 Summary of General Fund operating budget requests delivered to City <br />Council. <br /> <br />July 6, 2015 City Council reviews General Fund budget at work session. <br /> <br />August 24, 2015 City Council adopts preliminary 2016 property tax levy or defers to <br />September 14th meeting and sets date for the Truth in Taxation Public <br />Hearing. <br /> <br />Oct. 5, 2015 City Council reviews other funds and utility rate study at a work session. <br /> <br />Nov. 9, 2015 City Council adopts utility rates for 2016. <br /> <br />Dec. 7, 2015 Truth in Taxation Public Hearing. <br /> <br />Dec. 14, 2015 Continuation Hearing and adoption of 2016 budget and tax levy. <br /> <br /> <br />Adopted May 11, 2015. <br /> <br /> <br />___________________________ <br />Joe Flaherty, Mayor <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> ___________________________ <br /> Jim Ericson, City Administrator <br /> <br />(SEAL)
