Mounds View City Council August 10, 2015 <br />Regular Meeting Page 5 <br /> <br /> 1 <br />Council Member Gunn thanked the residents for participating in the National Night Out event. 2 <br />She was pleased that she was able to attend a large number of the parties and get to know more 3 <br />of her neighbors. 4 <br /> 5 <br />Mayor Flaherty thanked Officer Nate Garland for his spearheading the National Night Out event 6 <br />for the City of Mounds View. 7 <br /> 8 <br />Mayor Flaherty reported the next Movie in the Park event would be held on Thursday, August 9 <br />13, 2015 at Hillview Park at 7:47 p.m. 10 <br /> 11 <br /> B. Reports of Staff. 12 <br />1. Finance 2nd Quarter Report 13 <br /> 14 <br />Finance Director Beer reviewed the 2nd Quarter Financial Report with the Council. He explained 15 <br />that most departments were under budget at this time. He discussed the importance of having a 16 <br />fund balance. He explained banquet center operations were up slightly in 2015. He was pleased 17 <br />to report that the City had only one year remaining on the street improvement project. He then 18 <br />discussed the State’s inflation and unemployment rates. He commented that the Finance 19 <br />Department finished the 2015 audit in the 2nd quarter and then began work on the 2016 Budget. 20 <br /> 21 <br />Council Member Meehlhause questioned who handled the rental of Lakeside Park. Finance 22 <br />Director Beer reported that the City of Mounds View did manage the rentals. 23 <br /> 24 <br />Mayor Flaherty thanked Finance Director Beer for his thorough report. 25 <br /> 26 <br />City Administrator Ericson reviewed the worksession agenda for September. 27 <br /> 28 <br />Mayor Flaherty was interested in discussing volunteerism at the September worksession meeting. 29 <br /> 30 <br />City Administrator Ericson was pleased to report that the City would have three or four 31 <br />developments to review for Crossroad Pointe. 32 <br /> 33 <br />City Administrator Ericson indicated Bethlehem Baptist was seeking a list of projects to fund. 34 <br />He encouraged the Council to forward any ideas they may have to staff. 35 <br /> 36 <br />C.
