<br />Ordinance 908 <br />Page 2 <br /> <br /> <br />(6) Equipment shall be maintained in good condition in accordance with <br />accepted best management practices. Unused beekeeping equipment shall <br />be properly disposed of or stored indoors. <br /> <br />(7) Licenses are valid indefinitely so long as the hives are operated continuously. <br />License may be revoked or denied by the City Council based on negligence <br />or nuisance. In such event, the property owner shall be provided with an <br />opportunity to be heard. Licenses shall expire upon lapse in use for a period <br />exceeding two years or upon a transfer of property ownership. <br /> <br /> <br />SECTION 2. In accordance with Section 3.07 of the City Charter, City staff shall have the <br />following summary printed in the official City newspaper in lieu of the complete ordinance: <br /> <br />On September 14, 2015, the City Council adopted Ordinance 908 that amends <br />Chapter 701 of Mounds View Municipal Code to provide for limited and controlled <br />raising and keeping of Honeybees on single family residential properties. <br />Residents would be limited to no more than four hives. Hives would need to be <br />located in rear yards only. A printed copy of the ordinance is available for <br />inspection during regular business hours at Mounds View City Hall and is <br />available on line at the City’s web site located at www.ci.mounds-view.mn.us. <br /> <br /> <br />SECTION 3.
