Page 3 <br />locations which are fairly close to each other. One crossing is near the traffic signal and the second <br />crossing is about 50’ southwest of the signal. The crossing located away from the signal is proposed to <br />be eliminated for the following reasons: <br />·The crossing is located an odd distance away from the intersection and in an unusual location <br />for a typical mid-block crossing <br />·There is no striped crosswalk or signing notifying motorists of the crossing <br />·There is another crossing located 50’ away at the signal which is the typical crossing location <br />COST ESTIMATE <br />A detailed cost estimate has been prepared and is attached to this memo. Ramsey County has a cost <br />participating policy where they will generally participate in the costs for sidewalks and trails constructed <br />within the County right-of-way. The policy states the County may share in 50% of the costs for the <br />surface and base materials for sidewalks and trails. This would include participation in the class 5 <br />aggregate base and bituminous pavement costs of the trail.
