RESOLUTION NO. 8488 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA Adopting the 2016 Property Tax Levy WHEREAS, the City Council has conducted numerous meetings and has made available detailed copies of the proposed 2016 Budget; and WHEREAS, the City Council provided the public an opportunity to speak at the Truth in Taxation meeting on December 7, 2015 to take comment on the proposed 2016 tax levy; and WHEREAS, when the Fire Improvement Bonds of 2005 were issued, the debt service was scheduled to be $98,149, however due to changes in the allocation of costs between participating cities, Mounds View’s actual 2016 cost on said bonds will be $100,099; and WHEREAS, when the Fire Equipment Certificates of 2011 were issued, the debt service was scheduled to be $50,735, however due to changes in the allocation of costs between participating cities, Mounds View’s actual 2016 cost on said bonds will be $54,020. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View that the following property tax levy for 2016 is hereby approved: General Fund base levy $ 3,706,549 Fire Bonds of 2005 levy 100,099 Fire Equipment Certificates of 2011 levy 54,020 PERA rate increase levy 39,145 Police Referendum market value levy 194,000 Total General Fund property tax levy $ 4,093,813 Street Improvement Capital Projects Fund levy $ 300,000 Total Property Tax Levy $ 4,393,813 and the City Administrator is hereby directed to notify Ramsey County and the State of Minnesota of said 2016 property tax levy.
