<br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 8486 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING TO THE RAMSEY <br />COUNTY AUTO THEFT PREVENTION COLLABORATIVE INITIATIVE <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Department has secured funding in 2012 for <br />the partner agencies from the Minnesota Department of Commerce, Division of Insurance Fraud <br />Prevention, Auto Theft Prevention Program, for the Ramsey County Auto Theft Prevention <br />Collaborative Initiative for license plate readers and awareness materials; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the partner agencies include the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Department, the <br />New Brighton Police Department, the Maplewood Police Department, the White Bear Lake <br />Police Department and the Mounds View Police Department; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Mounds View Police Department has acquired one license plate reader <br />from the Sheriff’s Department grant and a second license plate reader unit during the initial <br />grant application period; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Department applied for additional grant funding <br />for the 2015-16 and 2016-17 periods on behalf of all partner agencies; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Mounds View Police Department can receive reimbursement of $2,000 <br />for the annual license plate reader maintenance fees and $3,200 for investigator overtime <br />expenses; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Mounds View Police Department must follow the guidelines in the <br />memorandum of understanding for the reporting requirements; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Department requests all partner agencies to <br />sign the Memorandum of Understanding to the Ramsey County Auto Theft Prevention <br />Collaborative Initiative to remain eligible for all grant reimbursements. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View, <br />Ramsey County, Minnesota, approval of the Memorandum of Understanding to the Ramsey <br />County Auto Theft Prevention Collaborative Initiative. <br /> <br /> <br />Adopted this 14TH day of December 2015. <br /> <br /> <br /> ____________________________________ <br /> Joe Flaherty, Mayor <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> ____________________________________ <br /> Jim Ericson, City Administrator <br /> <br />(seal) <br />
