RESOLUTION 00222 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OR RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />APPROVING THE JOB DESCRIPTION, SALARY COMPENSATION AND <br />AUTHORIZATION TO ADVERTISE FOR THE PUBLIC WORKS <br />PROJECT COORDINATOR POSITION <br />WHEREAS, at the February Work Session and the February 10, 2014, City Council <br />Meeting, a new position was discussed for the Public Works Department called Project <br />Coordinator; and <br />WHEREAS, Staff submitted the draft Project Coordinator job description to <br />Springsted, Inc., and requested them to conduct a HAY point and salary compensation <br />analysis; and <br />WHEREAS, during the March 3, 2014, Work Session, the City Council reviewed the <br />compensation analysis, and it was the consensus of the City Council to move forward in <br />approving the job description, salary compensation and authorization to advertise for the <br />position; and <br />WHEREAS, Springsted, Inc., recommends that the Project Coordinator be assigned <br />291 HAY points, based on the position's comparability to the Planning Associate position, <br />which is also at 291 HAY Points; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of Springsted, Inc., to assign the Project <br />Coordinator position with a pay range identical to the Planning Associate position; and <br />WHEREAS, below is the salary compensation schedule for the Project Coordinator <br />position, which is identical to the City's Planning Associate position, as recommended by <br />Springsted, Inc.: <br />Step 1 <br />Step 1.5 <br />Step 2 <br />Ste 3 <br />Step 4 <br />Step 5 <br />$24.70/hour <br />I $25.47/hour <br />I $26.24/hour <br />I $27.78/hour <br />I $29.33/hour <br />$30.87/hour <br />WHEREAS, the Project Coordinator position is a non-union, full-time, non-exempt <br />position, as stated in the attached job description; and <br />WHEREAS, Staff would like to start the process of advertising for the Project <br />Coordinator position immediately. <br />
