RESOLUTION 00222 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OR RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA APPROVING THE JOB DESCRIPTION, SALARY COMPENSATION AND AUTHORIZATION TO ADVERTISE FOR THE PUBLIC WORKS PROJECT COORDINATOR POSITION WHEREAS, at the February Work Session and the February 10, 2014, City Council Meeting, a new position was discussed for the Public Works Department called Project Coordinator; and WHEREAS, Staff submitted the draft Project Coordinator job description to Springsted, Inc., and requested them to conduct a HAY point and salary compensation analysis; and WHEREAS, during the March 3, 2014, Work Session, the City Council reviewed the compensation analysis, and it was the consensus of the City Council to move forward in approving the job description, salary compensation and authorization to advertise for the position; and WHEREAS, Springsted, Inc., recommends that the Project Coordinator be assigned 291 HAY points, based on the position's comparability to the Planning Associate position, which is also at 291 HAY Points; and WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of Springsted, Inc., to assign the Project Coordinator position with a pay range identical to the Planning Associate position; and WHEREAS, below is the salary compensation schedule for the Project Coordinator position, which is identical to the City's Planning Associate position, as recommended by Springsted, Inc.: Step 1 Step 1.5 Step 2 Ste 3 Step 4 Step 5 $24.70/hour I $25.47/hour I $26.24/hour I $27.78/hour I $29.33/hour $30.87/hour WHEREAS, the Project Coordinator position is a non-union, full-time, non-exempt position, as stated in the attached job description; and WHEREAS, Staff would like to start the process of advertising for the Project Coordinator position immediately.
