• Proficient use of computers and general software programs; experience with Microsoft Office <br />Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) required; and Microsoft Project and Adobe Acrobat preferred. <br />• Assessing in -field conditions and problems and determining workable solutions to resolve them. <br />Ability to: <br />• Manage multiple projects and work assignments within given time constraints and clearly defined <br />set of expectations. <br />• Perform routine decision-making in interpreting plans and specifications related to contract <br />disputes and modifications. <br />• Coordinate with design professionals to resolve plan discrepancies and construction problems <br />related to contract documents. <br />• Calculate basic estimated quantities and cost estimates for public works/facilities improvements. <br />• Occasionally attend evening meetings and work extended hours as necessary for completion of <br />assigned duties and responsibilities. <br />• Obtain and keep current all licensures and certificates required for position. <br />• Communicate effectively, in English, both verbally and in writing. <br />• Operate a motor vehicle and other tools and equipment used. <br />• Pass a background check. <br />TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED <br />• Common office tools and equipment including telephone, personal computer, printers, <br />photocopier, and facsimile machine. <br />• Hand-held equipment and devices including mobile telephone, camera, calculator, GPS devices, <br />tape measures, and infrared thermometers. <br />• Construction safety equipment including hardhat, safety boots, safety vests, hearing protection, <br />eye protection, and gloves. <br />• Motor vehicle. <br />PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT <br />The physical demands and work environment characteristics described herein are representative of <br />those physical demands that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential <br />functions of this job and those work environment characteristics that an employee encounters while <br />performing the essential functions of this job. The employee is <br />frequently required to talk, hear, see, stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time, and <br />occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, taste, and smell during inspections <br />and construction monitoring. Audio-visual acuity sufficient to observe, evaluate field conditions, <br />reading and writing, and communicate orally in person and over the telephone. Specific vision <br />abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, <br />depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee may frequently lift and/or move up <br />to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. <br />Work Environment: <br />While performing the duties of this job, the employee primarily works indoors in a typical office <br />environment that is well lit and has controlled indoor air HVAC system.
