communities. Lastly, we are working to concretize the role of Allies, Navigators and other
volunteer roles for the CSC. Trainings will be based on this work in the near future.
In order to support the calming down and longer-term view and develop a truly responsive
community based initiative, we are working with our partners to follow a defined partner -
agreed upon protocol and messaging that establishes our wish for all to work as partners in
creating short AND long term stability. The work of the CSC relies on interdependence and a
prevention/proactive resource development focus along with the development of informal
resources/community connections. Goal setting and incentivizing progress will be the tools
that mobilize this systems change.
Although the focus for Year I was establishing and strengthening partner buy -in and trust
through rigorous integration of all partner input; this year, the change we are already making
and will continue to make, is to help our partners discern whether or not the CSC model is the
right fit for them. Now that the CSC model has had a year to prove its value in the community
and our principles are becoming clearer, it's important that all partners understand what the
CSC can do and what it can't do; what its purpose is and what its purpose is not. These
boundaries and clear expectations have further supported the progression of our efforts and
clarified roles and responsibilities of all involved.
Are there any other important outcomes as a result of this grant?
The mostpositive of outcome was on a more macro level than service level and that is the
development of anti povertyfaith and civic engagement initiative where multi -sector
stakeholders provide human, financial and in-kind services for the purpose of helping our
neighbors achieve housing stability. This outcome is where the majority of our first year's
efforts went; to develop trusting partnerships across the school -faith -service continuum, to
create a collaborative governance that is representative of all stakeholders; to develop a
collaborative service model that begins to address our neighbor's needs while developing a
sustainable funding model to grow the work of Year 1.
Do you have any plans to share your results or findings? How?
We have already met with the Suburban Ramsey Family Collaborative Joint Powers Board and
did a whole overview of the needs and issues families in povertyface in Suburban Ramsey.
Various models that are utilized to address the complexity of these issues were shared in
collaboration with our partners. This discussion was built off of the framework of one of our
partner's focus group reports called, "Voices of the Hungry" (Keystone Community Services).
This same presentation will now be repeated for our mayors, city administrators, police and
civic partners as a way offurther engaging theirpartnership in this work.
