Movrms VtEw <br />of Mounds View Staff <br />Item No: 08A <br />Meeting Date: January 27 2014 <br />Type of Business: Consent <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: James Ericson, City Administrator <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution 8204 Supporting Ramsey County's Request for <br />Transportation Funding Associated with Interstate 35W, <br />Highway 96, County Road H and Roads within TCAAP <br />Introduction: <br />Ramsey County is requesting state funding to assist with the much needed and long <br />overdue transportation improvements that will benefit the TCAAP redevelopment project <br />and adjoining communities. <br />Discussion: <br />To help support the County's request for funding, the City has been asked to approve a <br />resolution which can be included in the County's funding request. The County Road H and <br />Highway 96 bridges over 35W are in need of replacement and the connections between <br />County Road H and 35W are in need of correction and completion. The requested funding <br />will help these much needed transportation projects move forward, projects which will <br />directly benefit the City of Mounds View, commuters who travel through our area and future <br />residents and employees within the TCAAP site. <br />Recommendation: <br />Staff recommends the City Council -act favorably upon the attached Resolution 8204 which <br />is a stement of support from the city ng the County's <br />nding request for <br />much nCouncil <br />eeded tr nsportation improvementson 35W!
