<br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 8270 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING REVISIONS TO THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT <br />SPECIALIST POSITION DESCRIPTION AND AUTHORIZING STAFF TO ADVERTISE <br />TO FILL THE VACANT PART TIME POSITION, RENAMED, <br />“BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR” <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Mounds View City Council has reviewed the job description of the <br />Economic Development Specialist and believe changes to the position description are <br />necessary to better reflect the needs of the City; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, one of the proposed changes would involve renaming the position to <br />“Business Development Coordinator”; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Economic Development Commission has reviewed the proposed <br />changes and expressed their support and recommended approval; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the position plays a vital role in support of the continued growth and <br />development of the business community and the sustained redevelopment and tax base <br />enhancements on the County Road 10 corridor; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the position serves as the link between the City and the business and <br />corporate communities, promotes the advantages of conducting business within the <br />community and acts as a liaison to many civic and government entities. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Mounds <br />View approves revisions to the position description attached hereto as Exhibit A, and <br />authorizes staff to post an announcement to fill the vacant position of “Business <br />Development Coordinator” on a part time basis. <br /> <br /> <br />Adopted this 23th day of June, 2014. <br /> <br /> <br /> _______________________________ <br /> Joe Flaherty, Mayor <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br /> _______________________________ <br />James Ericson, City Administrator <br /> <br />(seal) <br />
