<br />Item No: 08C <br />Meeting Date: August 25, 2014 <br />Type of Business: CA <br />Administrator Review : ____ <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Desaree Crane, Assistant City Administrator <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution 8293, Approving Severance for David Radtke of <br />the Mounds View Police Department <br /> <br />Background <br /> <br />David Radtke submitted his resignation as a police officer, and his last day of employment <br />was on August 20, 2014. Attached is Resolution 8293, which authorizes severance to David <br />Radtke in accordance with the LELS Local 204 Labor Agreement. In accordance with Article <br />23.1 (A) of the current labor agreement: <br /> <br />Upon Separation from employment with the City, employees with less <br />than twenty (20) years of service and leave in good standing will <br />receive a lump-sum taxable severance compensation for all accrued <br />vacation and compensatory time. <br /> <br /> <br />Discussion <br /> <br />Resolution 8293 provides a payout of David Radtke’s accrued/unused vacation time. In <br />accordance with Article 23.1, David Radtke is authorized a vacation time payout totaling <br />$549.41. This is calculated as 25.26 accrued/unused vacation hours times his hourly rate of <br />$21.75. <br /> <br />Resolution 8293 also provides a payout of David Radtke’s compensatory time. In according <br />with Article 23.1, David Radtke is authorized a compensatory time pay out totaling $81.56. <br />This is calculated as 3.75 compensatory hours times his hourly rate of $21.75. <br /> <br />In accordance with the LELS Local 204 Labor Agreement, David Radtke is not eligible for a <br />sick time severance payout. <br /> <br /> <br />Recommendation <br /> <br />Staff recommends approving Resolution 8293 in accordance with Article 23.1 of the LELS <br />Local 204 Labor Agreement. <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br /> <br />_______________________ <br />Desaree Crane <br /> <br />
