The RCTSI partners with the Minnesota Office of Traffic Safety in the <br />Toward Zero Deaths program. In the 2nd d quarter, the Mounds View Police Department <br />participated in 2 DWI, a Distracted Driving, a Seatbelt and a Speed enforcement detail. <br /> <br />The first DWI saturation was held on May 3rd and was hosted by the Saint Paul Police <br />Department. The entire detail conducted 342 traffic stops and made 9 DWI arrests. Officers <br />Darrell Meyer and Jeff Martin participated in this event. They conducted 24 traffic stops but <br />were unable to locate a drunk driver. <br /> <br />The second DWI saturation occurred on May 9th and was hosted by the Ramsey County <br />Sheriff Department. The entire detail conducted 169 traffic stops and made 17 DWI arrests. <br />Sergeant Zender participated in this event. He made 2 DWI arrests during his shift. <br /> <br />Over the dates of April 11th- 20th, Mounds View Officers participated in the “April Distracted <br />Driver Enforcement” detail. We had 3 officers work this event over the course of the detail (4 <br />hour shifts each). Our officers conducted 53 traffic stops resulting in 10 citations. <br />
