Mounds View City Council August 25, 2014 <br />Regular Meeting Page 7 <br /> <br />Finance Director Beer answered the Council's questions related to claims. 1 <br /> 2 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Meehlhause. To Approve the Just and Correct Claims as presented. 3 <br /> 4 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 5 <br /> 6 <br />10. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 7 <br /> 8 <br />None. 9 <br /> 10 <br />11. REPORTS 11 <br />A. Reports of Mayor and Council. 12 <br /> 13 <br />Council Member Gunn reported she attended the I-35W Coalition meeting last week and a 14 <br />MnDOT crew was present to discuss a shovel ready project. This project would create a MN-15 <br />Pass lane from Lexington Avenue to County Road C. She reported that public comment would 16 <br />be taken at Open Houses that would be scheduled early next spring. 17 <br /> 18 <br />Council Member Mueller explained she attended the League of Minnesota Cities Board of 19 <br />Directors meeting last week and approved a budget for 2015. The group also discussed the 20 <br />insurance trust and indicated member cities were to expect a 3% increase for 2015. 21 <br /> 22 <br />Council Member Mueller provided a recap on Festival in the Park and thanked all of the 23 <br />volunteers involved in pulling off this wonderful event. She then read a list of trophy winners for 24 <br />the 8th Annual Car Show. 25 <br /> 26 <br />Council Member Mueller discussed the recent Concert in the Park noting T&A Show provided a 27 <br />great show for the community. 28 <br /> 29 <br />Council Member Meehlhause indicated the Rice Creek Watershed District would be holding a 30 <br />public meeting on Tuesday, August 26th at 9:00 a.m. at the Shoreview City Hall. Discussion will 31 <br />be held regarding the middle Rice Creek restoration project. 32 <br /> 33 <br />Council Member Meehlhause reported he would be attending a Northeast Youth and Family 34 <br />Services meeting on Thursday morning. 35 <br /> 36 <br />Mayor Flaherty was pleased to report that the TCAAP property has been renamed Rice Creek 37 <br />Commons. 38 <br /> 39 <br />Mayor Flaherty indicated he would be attending the Apple Tree Dental Grand Opening on 40 <br />Wednesday, August 27th at 4:30 p.m. 41 <br /> 42 <br />Mayor Flaherty thanked all who attended and assisted in the planning of Festival in the Park. He 43 <br />stated this was a great event for the entire community and looked forward to next year’s 44 <br />celebration. 45
