RESOLUTION 8348 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />AUTHORIZING PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERING DESIGN AND PREPARATION OF <br />BIDDING DOCUMENTS FOR SILVER VIEW PARK TRAIL REHABILITATION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the trails in Silver View Park were originally constructed as wood chip <br />paths in the early 1980’s, then paved with asphalt in 1993, and the existing condition of the <br />pavement is poor and stormwater runoff drains across many areas of the trails; and <br />WHEREAS, geotechnical and pavement evaluation was performed in 2014 by <br />American Engineering Testing (AET) for the Silver View Park trail and found many areas <br />with buried organics and wood chips below the paved trail, and a pavement design was <br />recommended by AET; and <br />WHEREAS, Engineering staff and the Parks and Recreation and Forestry <br />Commission both recommend rehabilitating the trail at Silver View Park and addressing the <br />drainage and other issues; and <br />WHEREAS, monies have been budgeted in 2015 under the Special Projects Fund <br />(480-4180-7050) for the trail rehabilitation; and <br />WHEREAS, fee proposals were solicited from three qualified consulting firms for <br />performing professional engineering services for the project, and engineering staff <br />recommends __________________ to be selected for performing said services. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds <br />View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: <br />1. __________________________ is authorized to perform engineering design services <br />and prepare bidding documents for Silver View Park Trail Rehabilitation Project (City <br />Project No. 2014-C06). Compensation will be on an hourly basis plus reimbursable <br />expenses with an estimated maximum fee of $__________. <br />2.
