Mounds View City Council June 11, 2018 <br />Regular Meeting Page 9 <br /> <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause thanked Council Member Bergeron for representing the City of <br />Mounds View and their interests with the Cable Commission. He recommended this item be <br />further discussed at an upcoming worksession meeting. The Council was in agreement. <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause stated the YMCA Advisory Board met last week and noted <br />summer programs were going well at the Community Center. He commented on the daily <br />admission and park rental fees that were being collected and noted revenues were on the rise. <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause explained the NYFS Mayor’s Challenge Golf event was held on <br />Monday, June 11th. He reported 22 foursomes signed up which was an increase over last year’s <br />event. He thanked Finance Director Beer for participating in this event. <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause indicated he would be having lunch with Jerry Hromatka, <br />President of NYFS, on Wednesday, June 13th to discuss his performance review. He commented <br />he would be attending an NYFS Executive Committee meeting on Thursday. <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause stated he would be attending the League of Minnesota Cities <br />Annual Conference June 20 through June 22 in St. Cloud, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause thanked the Public Works staff for putting on the recent Open <br />House. <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause commented on the home energy audits that were available to <br />Mounds View residents, noting he recently had an audit completed on his home. He encouraged <br />residents to take advantage of this great service. <br /> <br />Mayor Mueller thanked Public Works Director Peterson and the entire Public Works team for <br />putting on a great Open House at the new Public Works Facility. She thanked the Twin Cities <br />North Chamber of Commerce President John Connelly for attending the Open House. She <br />encouraged residents to contact City Hall if interested in touring the facility. <br /> <br />Mayor Mueller reported school was out for the summer. She requested residents use caution <br />when driving as children were home for the summer and would be playing outdoors. <br /> <br />Mayor Mueller discussed the number of Little Libraries available in Mounds View and noted <br />further information was available at City Hall. She commented on the Little Libraries and <br />wonderful story time that was provided by the neighbors living at the corner of Groveland Road <br />and Arden Avenue. She reported story time would begin again this year on Tuesday, June 12th at <br />10:00 a.m. and would be held every other week throughout the summertime. <br /> <br />Mayor Mueller stated the Festival in the Park Committee would be meeting on Tuesday, June <br />19th at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall. She explained this group was still seeking volunteers and those <br />interested were encouraged to attend this meeting. She indicated the 60th Anniversary <br />Committee was planning a street dance which would be held on Friday, August 17th.
