RESOLUTION 8103 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF A 72-INCH DECK MOWER FOR THE <br />PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Public Works is responsible for the mowing and maintenance of over <br />150 acres of parkland and grounds; and <br />WHEREAS, Public Works utilizes a variety of mowers to perform this work, including <br />a 72-inch deck mower with hydrostatic drive for use to trim around trees, landscaping, and <br />other obstacles; and <br />WHEREAS, the existing 2007 Jacobsen Turfcat deck mower used for trimming <br />began having transmission problems beginning last year which have increasingly gotten <br />worse, making the mower less safe to use; and <br />WHEREAS, Public Works obtained an estimate to repair the transmission problem <br />for approximately $2,500 to $3,000; and <br />WHEREAS, Public Works solicited a quote from Turf Werks of Eagan, Minnesota for <br />a new Jacobson Turfcat 628D-4WD trim mower of equivalence for a total of $15,343.81 <br />which includes tax and a trade-in of $6,000 for the existing mower; and <br />WHEREAS, Public Works recommends replacing the existing trim mower with the <br />above said mower. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds <br />View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: <br />1. The purchase of a new Jacobsen Turfcat 628D-4WD trim mower for $15,343.81 from <br />Turf Werks of Eagan, Minnesota is hereby accepted by the City. <br />2.
