National Sports Conger lee Arena M-adc,,ye Agreement <br />Mr. Whiting noted that this master• agm rpt must bo agreed to by the City of Mounds View le order to be a <br />pari of the eonstination of one of four ice rinks beiug proposed at the National Sport, l?aoility in Btat no. <br />Mounds View has joined with three other communities - Arden Hills, Shoreview and Novi Brighton in the <br />agr o ment and will sham in the operational costs of one of the rinks a5, the sports centre. <br />Tho group will commit to provide assurance that 2080 hours of ice time will be purchasrA' cwhyear et a <br />Ask minimum cost of $125/hour. As pari of the supplemental ageemeat, they have been worldug with two area <br />hockey associations who would basically commit to those ice hours and who would build an escrow fund to <br />help pay for umsed ice hours. The cities have worked with Ramsey County and have secured their; <br />commitment to put the $500,000 toward the rink. The ground breaking is expected to take place someticpo <br />this year. He asked that two separate Resolutions be adopted, one approving the Master Agreement and the <br />other approving the Supplemental Agreement Minor language changes may yet need to be made to the <br />agreements, none ofwhich will substantially change the basic contents. <br />Mayor McCarty stated he would like to see the four cities develop a Joint Powers Agreement under Statutes <br />471.59.
